Sustainable floristry is good for your soul and good for the earth.
That’s why Wild in Love is an eco-friendly florist specialising in locally sourced flowers and sustainable floral design. Nature has the perfect balance, so in my designs I bring in the goodness of the natural world to create unique floral art.
But sustainability is more than just inspiration. It’s the foundation of everything I do.
What’s unsustainable about floristry?
Both the flowers we use and the way we use them can be harmful to our environment.
● Floral foam, which is commonly used in arrangements, is made from tiny particles of plastic that do not compost, recycle or break down.
● Dyed and preserved flowers can’t go into green waste like other flowers can, because of the chemicals and toxins used in their treatment.
● Imported flowers have flown thousands of kilometres to get to us, and mean we’re not supporting local growers. They’re treated with chemicals on entering the country, which means they can’t be composted, and lack fragrance.
That’s why we do things differently.
Sustainable flowering at Wild in Love means
Locally grown flowers sourced from micro farms within Victoria that avoid using chemicals and plastic wrap.
Seasonal blooms, grown right here, to avoid exorbitant mark-ups, thousands of air miles, or low-quality imported flowers.
Reusable floral mini cages used where possible over floral foam.
Human connection with growers and clients, to help you make informed choices
that align with your values.
Composting or using green waste wherever possible.
Wild in Love is for artful wedding flowers or unique gifts that align with your values andgive back to the earth.
